Subadditive Ergodic Theorems
Above is the famous Fekete’s lemma which demonstrates that the ratio of subadditive sequence (an) to n tends to a limit as n approaches infinity. This lemma is quite crucial in the field of subadditive ergodic theorems because it gives mathematicians some general ideas and guidelines in the non-random setting and leads to analogous discovery in the random setting. Kingman’s Subadditive Ergodic ...
متن کاملKingman's Subadditive Ergodic Theorem Kingman's Subadditive Ergodic Theorem
A simple proof of Kingman’s subadditive ergodic theorem is developed from a point of view which is conceptually algorithmic and which does not rely on either a maximal inequality or a combinatorial Riesz lemma.
متن کاملLinear Repetitivity, I. Uniform Subadditive Ergodic Theorems and Applications
This paper is concerned with the concept of linear repetitivity in the theory of tilings. We prove a general uniform subadditive ergodic theorem for linearly repetitive tilings. This theorem unifies and extends various known (sub)additive ergodic theorems on tilings. The results of this paper can be applied in the study of both random operators and lattice gas models on tilings.
متن کاملErgodic Theorems for Random Group Averages
This is an earlier, but more general, version of ”An L Ergodic Theorem for Sparse Random Subsequences”. We prove an L ergodic theorem for averages defined by independent random selector variables, in a setting of general measure-preserving group actions. A far more readable version of this paper is in the works.
متن کاملRandom Ergodic Theorems with Universally Representative
When elements of a measure-preserving action of R d or Z d are selected in a random way, according to a stationary stochastic process, a.e. convergence of the averages of an L p function along the resulting orbits may almost surely hold, in every system; in such a case we call the sampling scheme universally representative. We show that i.i.d. integer-valued sampling schemes are universally rep...
